You Matter. So Does Your Profile.

You matter.

One of the beautiful aspects of Neqtr is our ability in attracting quality users to join the app — users that care about more than just themselves and believe in supporting and engaging with their communities. Users like you.

We did away with the swipe.

As mentioned, it went against everything we stand for. We replaced the swipe with thumbnails where you can either “match” with others via clicking on the heart (love) & honeycomb (friend) icons and/or making a move and messaging first by bookmarking potentials.

The problem is if you don’t do things differently and treat Neqtr like other more superficial apps. We understand that filling out a profile can feel like a lot of work, but if you don’t then our users will be judging you based strictly on your one and only profile picture.

We’re not a superficial app, so please don’t treat us like one, k?

I’m going to use my own profile here as an example. As the Founder, my mission is to help all of you wonderful people find a conscious partner to save the world with. It’s a big undertaking, but one I truly believe is possible if done correctly.

As you can see there are dots along the bottom of my main photo. Those dots indicate the fact that I added (5) pictures for your viewing pleasure. If you don’t add additional photos, you will only have the one. I’m stating the obvious, but to many users it doesn’t seem that obvious.

We recommend that you add at least (3) photos with one being a full body, one by yourself (furbabies & actual babies included in this shot are perfectly acceptable & adorable), and one that looks somewhat joyful. If all (3) are a closeup of your face, it will be a little odd. Just sayin, but #DoYou.

Add cause & lifestyle icons AND fill out the profile questions.

We included questions that will help you see how amazingly awesome the user is that you selected and will further intrigue you to say, “hello, I want to know you.”

If you don’t fill out your profile, it will tell others that you don’t care enough to do so. It’s online dating, people are quick to judge. If you couldn’t take the time to fill out a handful of questions or add a few photos, what does that say about you and your intentions on the app? If you joined the app to meet a quality partner, then take the time to be your best self. It’s really that simple. If you don’t, and you still insist on meeting a quality partner, you’re sabotaging your chances. Many people will write you off and not respond if you don’t take the time to do this. Also, filling out the profile provides ice-breakers and has the ability to make any user 10x sexier.

So friends, here are the quick tips:

  1. Add 3-5 photos – full body, joyful, individual, face shot, up-to-date, doing something you’re passionate about, furbabies, babies, etc.
  2. Add cause & lifestyle icons – these showcase some of your passions, and we’re a passionate app. You’re a passionate person. Flaunt it.
  3. Fill out the profile questions – These will help users take a look into your life to see how sexy you are and how much you care.

Oh, also: take a look at people’s profiles before selecting them. This will help you move out of the “hot or not” mindset and into the “I genuinely give a shit” mindset. If there are only a couple of people in your area, instead of writing them off, again, look at their profiles. They might be just what you’re looking for. Again, giving a shit works wonders! #QualityOverQuantity #FTW ❤

If you have any questions, concerns, or feedback please don’t hesitate to reach out to Sam on the app. She is there to help.

Love & Gratitude xoxo, Sonya

  1. Just read your Feature article in SD Union. Sounds wonderful, however I am a “Boomer” not a Millennial, haha!
Generally speaking we are arguably even more socially conscious and into volunteerism. Any plans for like minded older folks on horizon? Also, is this available online or just through phone app? Is there a phone app for Windows Smartphone? Miss Sonya, you have the right idea about what matters most in relationships. Kudos 🙂

    1. Hi Bob,

Glad you read it! We’re not just for Millennials, and have been receiving spikes in older markets. We’d love to have more than Millennials on the app, as we do see a huge market opportunity there. We just need to gauge how best to reach baby boomers and the like. We are only available through iOS & Android at this time. I’m so glad to hear from you!

      1. I’m also a baby boomer (barley) and was impressed with your concept. However I downloaded your app (on my iPad) and it wouldn’t let me sign-up. Any ideas?
